"This was an outstanding exposure to life in South Africa. Everything from High School in Tumahole to the hike to the Old British Fort on the hill to the constant flow of data on the game animals was an enormously successful adventure for me and all the students. We will work hard to make this a regular part of our educational program! And the birds! The birds!"

- Sam Johnson

BIRDS

There is also a large number of bird species that make The Savannah their home. This includes many types of canaries, cuckoos, egrets, ducks, herons, plovers, and warblers. Many birds of prey can be seen at The Savannah, too, including eagles, goshawks, owls and, of course, vultures. You could spend days and always see something new!
